So, so... I was talking with Raine, and she totally enabled this essay. In fact, it's all her fault. So just blame her for the TL;DR. You'll feel better about yourself later.
Anyway, essaying about your character at least once is a requirement, right? Okay, maybe not, but it is nice. Either way, it's hard to get a feel for a character based off of the canon in an apping round. So, a little bit of a more indepth look of how I see Kratos is required here, before I essay on about the real subject of this post: His waifu~.
Okay, way to start the essay off. Kratos, if you've noticed... Is rather bland. Most of this tags, in my mind, read as a sort of monotone. Why? Well, there's a bit of emotional stunting going on there, but in my mind, there is very little he actually cares about. Getting him to take an interest in idle chit chat? It's like pulling teeth for me most times, so I'm pretty thankful for any actual CR he forms, or any conversations where I'm not, "UM um um" ing the whole time about what to say next to keep it going. It's more of... he's an observer, which if you know his canon? Makes a hell of a lot of sense. Cruxis is a sort of... observatory organization for the most part. And Kratos is not a mover and a shaker.
He's just not. He's seriously the type of character that is funny, not on his own, but thanks to the crack surrounding him. He won't start fights, won't start pointless arguments. He doesn't care when Raine asks him to do seemingly menial things. Asking why she's making him do it, at this point, is more of a habit than really needing to know.
Somehow, while writing this, I've managed to make Kratos out to be the ultimate henchman. He's strong, he's got nothing to lose, and he just doesn't care. Perfect! No wonder Mithos kept him around for so long, especially considering Yuan's not so secret underground renegade group.
In fact, there's only one.. no, two things I can honestly and completely say Kratos cares about: Strength, and Lloyd. And thus, he cares about Lloyd getting stronger.
SO, This is tying into the whole point of this essay: ANNA. And why I will never post to the Tales of Dressing Room as Kratos ever again. You see, it was at the dressing room that I realized how apathetic my Kratos is. And I realized it... against an Anna. Now, how could this possibly happen? Anna has no canon personality... or even a picture. She could be any old joe, and so as long as I played along with it, it could be great, right?
Wrong. I mean, when it comes to past persons that are only implied, and never really elaborated on? I think we should look at the characters that DO have personality. They'll be the biggest factor in how that person should act, or... Well. They should be. And the fact that my Kratos was very apathetic and Do Not Want at an Anna meant one of us was Doin' It Wrong. And call me crazy, but I'd have to say it was the gal with the face from a doujinshi.
And this prompted me to think about aspects of Kratos's personality and how he ticks and just what sort of woman Anna was in my headcanon. I figured it'd be a good idea to have an idea anyway, at least. Because we certainly don't know Anna's personality from any other character's perspective. Maybe Lloyd's, but considering Anna died when he was three, I wouldn't count on that. But that's neither here nor there, and if it is, it's an essay for Lloyd, not me.
Anna has one main characteristic in my mind:
She's a lot stronger than Kratos, emotionally.
Kratos is not the kind of person to be topped so easily most of the time. I imagine that pulling him away from Mithos took a lot of strength of will, especially considering how Kratos was loyal to him for over 4000 years. Like the thought never occurred to him that having two worlds war with each other, and raising humans for exspheres is a Bad Thing. But one human woman managed to get through 4000 years of conditioning and made Kratos change his ideals-- permanently.
Raine making Kratos blow up furniture or Lloyd conning Kratos into moving a bird house doesn't cut the level of strength I'm talking about. Because neither of those actions really required that Kratos think about what he was doing-- and he didn't have some personal, moral reason to NOT do it. Thus, sorry, these OTPs were never meant to be :( Well. Besides the fact that Lloyd is his SON skdfd.
But for this reason, neither does a Colette wanna-be. Colette is Lloyd's love interest, and for good reason. That constantly lying to be happy thing probably wouldn't impress Kratos. Because that doesn't equal emotional strength always, and I think that's one of Colette's great flaws. She's not emotionally strong in the beginning, IMHO. Feel free to disagree with me, but it's just my opinion. I just can't see Kratos being appreciative of someone who hides behind a smile all the time.
In the same vein, I honestly think Anna had to do more protecting of Kratos in a sense.
Why, am I admitting I think Kratos is a delicate little flower? YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I AM. Well, okay, no, he's not. I'm sure he was the meatshield character we're all so fond of. You know, the one that beats things up while you play as the back row mage. BUT HE IS IN A SENSE.
Kratos's emotions are... stunted, I guess. No, stunted is not the right word. Underexpressed would be better. So, having to deal with being in love and being a father (no matter how much a faildad he was/is), along with the stress of being a family in hiding. I could imagine that wearing Kratos down really quickly. It'd wear ANYONE down. Yet, somehow, in my headcanon, these years happen to be the happiest times of Kratos's life. I'm pretty sure canon alludes to that too, actually, just... lacking direct quotes right now.
Why? Because Anna was his emotional support. Anna kept the family running, even after Kratos had given Lloyd likely permanent brain damage. (Sorry, son...)
And honestly? All the Annas in the dressing rooms never take this into account when playing her. She's always Colette-esque in her characterization, and she usually lacks Colette's strength as well. Just... another bishoujo that Kratos would be uninterested in if I simply had him say, "You're not Anna."

Age: Over 4000, at least.
Height: 186 cm/ 6'1
Weight: 78kg/171lbs
Medical Info: He's. 4000 years old, despite being a human.
Eyes: Dark purple
Hair: Reddish purple
Physical traits: Likes purple. A lot.
What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: I don't mind mentioning anything-- there are some things I like being warned of being mentioned, but I can't really think of anything for Kratos specifically. So, for now I'll say, GO FOR IT.
Abilities: He's strong as hell, has an indefinite lifespan, being a human/angel, and thus can use magic despite not really having any elven blood in him.
Notes for the Psychics: Kratos has had a long life, and tends to keep things in if he doesn't think it'll help the situation in any way. And he's part angel, so he might be a little more resistant to your sneaky tricks than, say, Lloyd.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: With warning a warning to me? Otherwise, I don't care.
Maim/Murder/Death: Uh. Please tell me on this one. I miiiiiight not like this one as much.
Cooking: Kratos is an okay cooker-- but no tomatoes. He hates tomatoes very, very much.
